Not a movie but Applebee's. A pretty underrated restaurant.

Applebee's cooks subpar, bland dishes doused in sauces.

I won't argue with this, but this is obviously the opinion of someone who probably makes enough money to eat at better places. Compared to the restaurants I eat at, Applebee's is fine dining, and a luxury. I think most of the food is pretty good. However, I think Burger King is pretty good too, so my palate isn't very sophisticated.

As a line cook, do you wish you cooked somewhere else or do you actually enjoy Applebee's? I guess a better question to ask is, did you just fall into the job and work for the pay check?

Do I wish I was a line cook that makes $12 an hour? Hell no. But this is my fault, not APplebee's or anyone else's. I've been a lazy pothead most of my life and was a criminal for years until I finally grew the fuck up and stopped the dumb shit. Now I'm a single dad of a teenage son, so he has to suffer the consequences of my actions. Basically, his dad is always broke.

How fast is the turnaround at Applebee's?

Not very high, honestly. I'm the newest cook, and I've been here a year next month. But I have to admit, in this new store I just moved to, shit is pretty smooth. The managers and other staff are all competent and friendly. There is very little drama and everyone does their job with little complaint (for the most part, every place has that one guy who cries all the time, fucking Tyler...)

It's really not all that bad. The worst part of it is the fact that I'm way too old for this, and I'm starting to feel it. I wish I had stayed in school, and stayed out of trouble, but it is what it is. Honestly, it's a decent job, for what it is. I can't complain.
