Not your average teenager

The you're cured part is a joke..

I truly believe grouping everything under ASD is taking a step backwards rather than forward. To find that my brother, who used to be diagnosed with asperger's, and his entire family who relied upon that diagnosis, are suddenly told that specific diagnosis doesn't exist anymore makes things much harder rather than easier. It feels like just when we had a smidge of answers, they suddenly take it away. So yes, in a way, it did get deleted, because now if we want a diagnosis, we have to go through the entire painstaking psych eval process all over again, and still no more answers than the first time. So that's my schpeel and why I dislike the DSM V.
