Really? They had tens of thousands of years before they were ever touched by the white man. They must not have used that time wisely. And Africa's willingness to sell their brethren into slavery is the whole reason the slave trade grew to massive proportions and became centered on the African continent. Nowhere else could so many humans be bought so easily, so cheaply.

Colonialism hasn't spurred war on the continent, age old tribalism has. While its true guns have been exported to Africa, perhaps changing the scale of conflict, the tribes kill each other with any implement possible. From burning people to death, to stoning, and everything in between. While the white man might not have done a ton to help Africa, per se, the disastrous hell hole that it is is the responsibility of those who live there.
