Met on OKC, she was this 18yo "normcore" hipster chick. For better clarification I was 23, worked an IT job, and was not a hipster by any means. I was aware of the age gap and did feel a little weird about talking to this girl, but she had a this ridiculous sense of humor and liked a lot of really dope bands, so I guess that drew me in. And she looked really mature for an 18 year old, could have easily passed for 21-22.
Anyway we talked for like 2 months, got each others' numbers and added each other on facebook. Talked every day and we were both weird as fuck. Didn't really know where it was heading, but for what it's worth I would have dated her. She started bugging me to hang out, go to shows with her, etc.. but due to the nature of my work I was never really available.
Finally, one day she sends me her usual "what up" text and I happened to be free. I was in the downtown area of where I live, day drinking with my buddy at some hip eatery that had a bar. She was only a couple miles away so I told her to come kick it.
Twenty minutes later she shows up with some weird older looking crust punk dude with a black eye, and her overweight friend who is a full blown purple haired tumblr creature with the bangs/glasses combo. The three of them went into the bathroom for god knows how long, doing/talking about god knows what. Finally they come out, and her male friend takes off (had to catch a bus or something). The two girls can't be at the bar, and my friend and I aren't feeling like food so we pay our tabs and go outside.
So there we are, my first time meeting this Okcupid chick, and we're sitting on the lawn outside this place, smoking cigs and talking about Tim and Eric. I have a couple beers in me so I'm not feeling that awkward, but I sense there is tension. My buddy turns to me and says "Oh dude, did I tell you that I went and saw [band] the other night?"
Tumblr friend immediately responds with "Oh my god gross, I hate [band] I can't even listen to their music they're such rapists" My friend is taken aback by this and asks her why she thinks they're rapists. To which she says "They're a bunch of 40 year old dudes who party with 19 year old girls, it weird and it's gross and it's rapey". An argument between my friend and her breaks out over the definition of rape. This meetup is off to a great start. She shuts him up and wins the argument by calling him gross and creepy every time he opens his mouth. As in, "Omg ew no gross, just shut the fuck up". Then she starts calling us both weird and creepy. In a matter of minutes this went from lighthearted chatter, to my friend and I being implicated as rapists. So now we're all just sitting there on this fucking lawn, half drunk, confused and pissed off at each other.
Meanwhile the main girl, the one I had actually intended to meet up with, is looking at me, giving me this weird smirk that basically says "you'll be putting up with a lot more of her if you wanna get to know me". Something clicks inside my head and I'm like fuck this. I say to them "Alright guys, we're gonna take off". I collect my friend and we dip the fuck out of there. Total time spent talking to these girls = 10 minutes. Total fail.
Another 10 minutes later, we're walking down the street trying to find another bar so we can drink away what just happened, when I get a text from the girl saying "Do you guys wanna meet back up and buy us dinner"... I stand there scratching my head. Is she serious? She follows that text up with, "I'm thinking sushi".
The density of this chick. How the fuck could either of them possibly think we'd wanna buy them dinner after the way they just talked to us? Amazing. It blew my mind. I responded with a simple "No". By the time I got home she had already unfriended me on facebook.
Never heard from her again. They probably had her own personal little harem of Okcupid guys willing to take them out and buy them food and be verbally abused. Yuck. Fuck that.
