Official Discussion - Avengers: Infinity War [SPOILERS]

i saw it with a bunch of my friends and when i told them they were like "oh that's bullshit fuck off"

i'm honestly disappointed that there's going to be a sequel because the ending they left it at was satisfying for me, even with all of the death. i think i was projecting my desire to have a meaningful life and make meaningful, positive change in the world onto Thanos, causing me to relate to him more than any of the other characters. i believe that there is no universal meaning to life because we all exist as our own individuals with completely unique experiences and, while these experiences are similar enough for us to be able to relate to each other and to be human, they certainly aren't similar enough for a single concept to be applied universally. we're born into this world without any cause or meaning and many leave in the exact same way. we have a duty, a responsibility, both to ourselves and to the collective, to find our own meaning in life. we give our own lives purpose, as individuals. this is why i have immense respect for Thanos, despite him being a fictional character and a villain. he was able to not only find his purpose, but also to fulfill it at a tremendous cost.

Thanos did nothing wrong.
