I'm at a bit of a crossroads regarding keeper team construction in my league, so I figured I would ask r/fantasybaseball for some conversation and thoughts.

Since 2013, I have been in a 12-team, 6 x 6 H2H Yahoo keeper league with an auction draft. Our categories are the usual 5 x 5 with OPS and K/BB added as well. Player salaries appreciate at 30% each year, with a minimum increase at $2. Salaries go up by $2 after a player reaches $35 so that every team can keep a few studs. These rules apply to waiver pickups as well, so in our league, the real bargains are these midseason acquisitions that become impact players. Teams also tend to have a high number of keepers, like 15-18 or so. Salary cap is $260.

I think this kind of league setup is relatively unique, so taking mainstream fantasy advice and applying it to my team can be tricky.

I'm wondering if my team construction is good enough to win this year. I last won in 2013, and am really shifting into a win-now mode to try and win again. I still need a 3B, but I'm not too worried about that position. I have no problem going for Adrian Beltre or Evan Longoria, who should both be available in the draft this year. Overall, I don't think I have quite enough offense to compete. My pitching is talented, but also young with a few guys on innings limits, but I feel as if good pitchers always emerge on the waiver wire.

Right now, I have a pending trade offer. Someone is offering Jose Bautista ($39) for my Cole Hamels ($28) and Corey Dickerson ($6). My gut tells me to pull the trigger on this deal, that it would put my offense over the top having Bautista next to Davis, Braun, Encarnacion, and Tulo.

But on the other hand, with my young staff, it would be nice to have Cole Hamels and his consistent 200 IP of solid ERA that he does year after year. Dickerson is a player that I love, but he has injury issues and is now in Tampa, so I'm okay with parting with him.

Any opinions and critiques would be welcome. I would also love to hear from any keeper owners with similar league setups.
