Ok, Reddit, if we all suspended judgment for a sec, what do you want to brag about?

This will be buried, but I saved a guy's life once. I was waiting for my metro train to arrive at the platform when I noticed a crowd gathering around an obviously high or mentally ill guy who appeared to have a panic attack or hallucinations or something like that. He was really nervous and switching between approaching people aggressively and being scared. Then, suddenly, he jumped onto the train tracks and started running on the tracks, towards an approaching train that was just leaving the previous station. I glanced at the display, saw that the next train would arrive in a minute, and jumped after him to chase him. When I reached him, I had to forcefully pull him off the tracks and pushed him into a wall next to them, holding him in a rear choke. He started crying and saying something about not calling the police in some eastern european language. The wall we were standing at was only about 1-2 meters from the track. Then, the train arrived, so I had to squeeze him really tightly into the wall we were standing at and the train passed really closely behind us. Since all the bystanders on the platform just watched, I told one of them to call an ambulance (The trick where you single out someone specific to do this actually works, apparently), they arrived and I helped them carry the guy (who was now just sobbing) off the tracks and back onto the platform. I really felt kinda heroic then, but the only comment I got was "That was really dumb of you, you could have died" from an elderly woman. No applause, no swooning hot girls.

I did get an award from the city I live in and a newspaper article though, so that was nice, although they made it sound less intense then it was.

I can also never tell this story in social situations because it is so braggy to do so.
