Old games ported to iOS/android

One thing I haven't understood is why Nintendo never took old games like Pokémon Red,Yellow,Blue Mario amongst other games to iOS and android.

It adds value to Nintendo consoles. You can see people here say they won't sell a system over virtual console and this logic is basically the absurdly tired and absurdly annoying "why doesn't Nintendo go third party?"

Even regarding new games, to ensure Nintendo gets the latest hardware sales for their exclusives they should keep the games on their system only for let's say 5 years then release it for other consoles.

Like, some people will just wait the time and if I knew Bayonetta 2, Mario and all that would one day go from Wii U to PlayStation 4, I wouldn't have been a day one buyer.

To me that would make the most sense to allow the most revenue. And create happier customers that would potentially end up buying the new Nintendo consoles for the new exclusives that come out on them.

It would discourage sales, simply because there would be no reason to support a Nintendo platform. Sure, I might have to wait, but there are a lot of people who simply opted out of playing Mario Kart 8 or Super Smash Bros. in general, so waiting a couple of years to play Breath of the Wild is better than paying $300 more for the experience.
