One of the most chaotic endings to a race ever: the 2008 Belgian GP (start watching at 22:20 for when the drama starts)

Well considering the FIA had to make a clarification to the rules I don't know which book you're talking about. Saying that they followed the rules to the letter of a book that needed to be rewritten is completely disingenuous. This decision to give a penalty is so completely and utterly flawed that they went into panic mode and fabricated Andrews statement because they knew they didn't have a hope in hell of proving the penalty was justified in the appeal. They flat out lied, got caught doing it and if this was a real court where they weren't a law unto themselves they would have been held in contempt of court and their case would have been ripped to shreds.

I'll tell you something else that gets lost in all of this and another reason(one of many) that they had no chance in hell of proving that the penalty was justified and that's the fact that Kimi regained the lead/advantage for a 2nd time on the same lap between turns 13 and 14 when Nico rejoined the track and Lewis took avoiding action. If Whiting actually ordered for the position to be given back again (after Lewis had already done along the start finish straight) then technically this was adhered to when Kimi took the lead between turns 13 and 14......an order that wasn't even given yet had the order been given in the first place it would have been satisfied when Kimi retook the lead. Next you will blame Lewis for Kimi losing the lead almost immediately when he span off and you will argue that he didn't hold the lead long enough to count as a reclamation of the advantage he lost to begin with. This decision makes a mockery of the sport and people like you should be ashamed of yourself for justifying it. You are lacking in moral fibre and all because you can't handle the fact that Hamilton schooled the Ferrari's that day especially Massa who was nowhere and absolutely didn't deserve the win. Rotten to the core.
