Like I said in my comment to that other post, the actress that was picked for Mileena would’ve been better as Jade or maybe even Tanya. I wasn’t that weirded out by the Millena casting though when Annihilation gave an Asian Jade as pointed out also, but with how diverse a cast MK pretty much always had and had amassed over time, do you really need to raceswap certain characters for a film? I could understand if it was another series where most of the characters are white, but that was hardly ever the case with MK, which has mostly been about the Asian persuasion as some put it; just my 2 cents.

Like I said too, with what little accuracy the new cinematic universe has going for it to begin with, a Kitana or Sindel that’s a different Edenian mix from Mileena is also possible; according to some interview, the writer of MK 2021 didn’t even know what Edenia was.

If Angela Bassett ever happened as Sindel or something though, then cool. Would be happy for her fans. I’m just not too ambitious with casting ideas for any character (even my favorites) since a lot of big names out there including Angela would be too expensive for some obscure MK movie sequel to afford, but doesn’t mean others shouldn’t discuss their dreams, or be harassed for doing so.

On that note, I’d be willing to make some compromises like a non-white actor playing Johnny Cage (one of my favorites) if it was either that or him not being there at all. His moves, humor, and personality was always what defined him for me, not so much him being white, even though the writer used that as the reason for Cage not being in MK 2021.
