Palmar Cooling Increases Exercise Performance

Temperature management works for strength and weight training as well.

I first read about the science of adding active cooling techniques to workouts in 2007 in this fascinating article about a DARPA program that allowed soldiers to go from 100 pull ups to 600 pull ups a session in 3 months using ice water and a cooling glove. More academic source on the same study from Stanford.

It sounds crazy but you could bring out a bucket of ice water outside and dip your hands in between sets to refresh your self. The more vascular the body part, the more effective the cooling can be. I will use a big square bucket and dip my entire foot/ankle/calf as well as my hands/forearms in kinda a forward fold yoga pose for a minute instead of normal rest between sets. Dip your face in for a nice mental stimulation and focus boost as well courtesy of the mammalian dive reflex.
