How far can you go with only isometrics?

Pretty much my entire effective history is contained in this thread over on the Strongfirst site: https://www.strongfirst.com/community/threads/new-training-block-isometrics-as-primary-resistance-training.20463/

Currently have been running it for over a year. The biggest drawback is something most will not notice and could be eliminated with some moderately loaded conditioning - testing isotonic exercises to failure induces a serious case of DOMS. Almost as if you had an untrained person rep to failure, only worse, because the iso makes you strong enough to really put a hurting on.

My background in this came about a few years back when considering getting my PT cert. I began to run down the list of strategies I did not know well enough to coach. Cluster Set training, HIIT (textbook Tabata) and isometrics were high on the list, so started reading everything not behind a paywall. During lockdown I had a good opportunity to run a 3 month stint, that really added to my understanding.
