Parents of porn stars, how did you find out your child does porn and how has it affected your relationship?

That's awesome man. People are so judgmental and put their values on other people so often, that it's good to see the reaction of someone that knows he can't control everything. You know you raised her well and that she will make the choices that she wants to make no matter what. This is an opportunity for her to set her own schedule, manage her own image, make good money and not have the mental stresses of other jobs that pay less and expect more. I have no kids, so this is from a perspective of never having experienced it, but I wanted to say that it appears you're handling it well.

What I will say is this, there is still a really weird stigma about former porn stars, that I still don't get. It's as though some people think that because they've seen someone naked, they're somehow superior to them, which is a mental state I don't get. For example, I haven't watched porn in forever, but when I did, I enjoyed a woman named Nina Mercedez. Then, without even seeking her out, ran into her on Instagram except now it seemed like she was kinda doing motivational workouts and wanting to show her workout regimen. I was like, "awesome, she still looks amazing and hell, I can't even do most of this stuff." I followed her for a while but then I got annoyed that every second or third comment was "she used to do porn," or "take out your tits," along with a host of other idiotic things. As much as I feel like I can separate the two, it seems that a whole host of people seem to not be able to.

Unfortunately, this is still an ongoing issue, but for yourself and your daughter, I wish you both the best. Also, for every 10 idiots who have some stupid nonsense to say, there are a hundred people that are normal enough to understand the difference between what she does as her job and the reality of her as a human being.
