People I see/interact with in everyday life seem far more attractive and interesting than people on apps

A good chunk of it is simply that people are bad at marketing themselves. But as OLD increases in popularity, you are going to see an increase in people with all sorts of behavioral and social issues. Because online dating is the perfect platform for them to message and interact from the comfort of their own home, without having to actually go out in public and interact face to face.

I think this ties right in with why there’s been such an increase of people using OLD over the years that want to chat for weeks and weeks before they meet, or end up never meeting at all.

All of this is also forcing the regular people that want to actually meet in person to jump ship and leave the apps.

There has been an unimaginable shift in OLD over the past 10+ years.

When I tried OLD for the first time over a decade ago, ghosting didn’t exist. People actually exchanged numbers and talked on the phone. People actually met in person within a day or two. People joined the sites because they wanted to meet in person.

Nowadays, experiencing OLD Is like interacting with people that have never gone on a date or had sex yet.
