People who have bought a house in Ottawa - tell me your stories

your wish is good, but kinda naive as most torontonian few years ago....

It's quite different than Vancouvor. More like toronto montreal investors or new immigrations can't afford the house price in other big cities. how can you charge tax on them? and as long as the house price is reachable to some CANADIANS or IMMIGRANTS (which is not hard given the low inventory here), price will stay there and no legal interference. After all government is the happiest one to see the skyrocketing price...
