Personal Loans for Credit Card Debt.

I had a serious wake-up call last year and took out a personal loan to pay off $20,000 in CC debt across 3 cards. $700 monthly payments for 36 months with about 12% APR. Having $0 due on my cards and a manageable monthly payment made me feel like I was in control again.

This year I've been pinching pennies and paying $2,000 per month on that loan. It'll be paid off in August and I'll be debt free.

Make sure you shop around for the best APR you can find. But anything around 9-10% is better than keeping that debt on those cards, and it's a good way to hit the reset button IMO. As others have said, do not look at your paid-off cards as an excuse to spend more money. Make a budget and don't spend money that you don't have.
