Philippines' Duterte asks military to tell China vast sea area 'is ours'

We aren't fucked (yet) as there is still no total war taking place. We just aren't strong enough as we are right now, unable to assert ourselves with our own strength in the world stage.

Some people are mad that the alliance with the US could have helped us, but some people will also react on the opposite and highlight what is sometimes called US Imperialism.

If there is anything we can learn from China, it's that hide and bide works. Hide your fighting spirit at the time being, and bide your time in building your strength so you can assert yourself someday. Also, we can learn plenty from Israel, a country, that despite being a barren land surrounded by hostile powers north and east, managed to lead in technology by concentrating on human resources that leads to the many innovations they are able to do (Intel chips, Fraud Sciences, Better World, etc.)

But then again, it's their chutzpah, discipline, actually using science, an entire team focusing on the task at hand that allows each of them to be questioned by anyone regardless of position, that made them what they are.

This led me to think that no, it's not our President that divides us, it's us being too absorbed and ego-invested in our own opinions, that we actually think that venting is acting.
