Portland brick building owners seek to block quake warning sign ordinance permanently

For the record, an exterior visual inspection is fairly accurate. There is a specific pattern, with specific arches, to the bricks that is not generally replicated outside of UM buildings.

If you are looking at a brick building that has a row of brick ends visible every 6th row or so and has a full unsupported brick arch over every window, but you don't see metal plates with bolts every 10' or so... High probability to be UM.

In an earthquake these buildings will not sway, they will simply crumble. It's not an if, it's a will. We have plenty of evidence from California to back this up. It should absolutely be disclosed to those who live within or are purchasing these buildings.
