(Spoilers Everything) Re-Writing Dany's final scene

I think the biggest problem with this scene is that it was following so soon after Daenerys' big 'walks out of the flames unharmed' bit from E04. I'd say the best way to really make this one work would have been to scrap that one entirely, and replace it with this one.

I mean, the setup was all there; at the start of season 6, we knew that Drogon was in the area, that he liked Daenerys enough to let her ride him but she couldn't quite control him yet, that Daenerys was with the Dothraki and most likely going to end up recruiting them, and that Daario and Jorah had set off to rescue her. The way it plays out at the moment, Daario and Jorah's biggest influence was barring the door of the hut before the burning, we never actually witness how/when Daenerys properly learns to control Drogon, and Dany's big 'Boss Khaleesi' moment feels a bit like repeating the season 1 scene and just expecting it to have the same oomph despite it lacking the build-up or connection to previous events that the old scene had.

Way I see it, Daario and Jorah's role should have been to break Daenerys out of Vaes Dothrak (sounds a bit crazy, I know, but they did break in, and they did end up finding her on her own...so ... I dunno, it works doesn't it?), and then after she's out, she then hears that they they want her to shuffle right back to Mereen, so she tells them no and orders them to help her with her new plan to get the Dothraki to follow her.

At this point, they could have probably left the timing the same in terms of episodes. End of E04, she announces she has a plan and her and Daario and Jorah set off to find Drogon, then in E06 they are all shown in the capture attempt (maybe they could even kill off Jorah in the attempt, I don't really see him having much more effect on anything. But this is just a random thought, not mandatory or anything), Jorah and Daario try to get her to run away, but Daenerys approaches Drogon to let him know she's decided to grab the Dothraki and conquer with "Fire and Blood" or she works whatever other magic charms she has with the dragon to get him to follow her.

The episode could end with the khals sitting in their hut, discussing their plans for daenerys the same way, and then either:

1) she enters the hut the same way she did in E04 and gives the same speech, but instead of pushing over braziers she calls in Drogon, he rips off the ceiling and she jumps on board. From atop her dragon "You're not going to serve, you're going to die", and then she roasts them. Everybody comes to watch and she flies outside to see them, Drogon prepares to roast some more people but Daenerys stops him, cue the kneeling to dragon mounted Dany. (This would need an explanation as to how she just wandered back into Vaes Dothrak, though)

2) The khals hear the dragon roar, and Daenerys shows up all dramatically on Drogon and roasts them. Then when everybody comes to see what's happening she could maybe give some variation on the speech she gave in E06 to the gathered masses, followed by cheering?

That's just a couple of things I threw together quickly. I'm not even sure if there's an equivalent scene that could be used as an episode end-er for E04 instead of the burning hut scene, but I just feel that I would have enjoyed this more than the two scenes we got, and I feel it would have been a better use of the set-up and all the pieces that were in place.
