I had no idea bride speeches were not common. Confession time: I was nervous, angry, and just uncomfortable at my wedding (sil changed out of the bridesmaids dress I paid for and into a white one right before the reception, mil gave a weird speech with digs at me and my family, fil ignored my mom when I tried to introduce her, just awful stuff) and tequila was free so I was LIT at my own wedding during time for speeches. And...I gave one. Made one up off the top of my head, and it was full of tears and digs at my shitty new in laws. I thanked those who supported us and only looked at my family's table and our friend's table. I wouldve been embarrassed if I ever had to see those nut jobs again. I didn't want to be "that bride" but I was, it's over, and oh well. Besides, I haven't seen any of those awful people since my wedding day and have no plans to ever again so they can take their judgments and shove em.
