MIL buying LO Easter Basket

My MIL has done something similar with her other grandkids....she would throw them birthday parties we all have to attend with balloons and cake.....and for easter she'd organize an easter egg hunt. If she wasn't a JUSTNOMIL it would be cute and thoughtful. But it comes from a place of wanting to outshine the model and play mommy. Before we had our baby I told DH that there are things only parents get to do....and things that we won't be doing for our child. E.g., our holidays and child's birthday won't revolve around her. DH agreed and shuts down any request at wanting us to come over for such holiday. "Oh thanks for the offer but we'll be spending Easter at home doing our own easter activities, perhaps you can come by the weekend after if you want to drop off a small easter gift but it isn't necessary". DH had brought up during pregnancy to flag any potential presents to him/us before gifting....to avoid duplicates but also to avoid anything inappropirate/overreaching (like a giant easter basket)
