In preparation for the festival, what's the best food to eat and what supplements should I take?

In terms of food you'll need to look into a lot of carbohydrates. Complex carbs such as whole grain pasta, oatmeals, and breads come to mind. It's also advisable to carbo-load two or three days before the event to store up glycogen in your muscles (also so your body will get accustomed to the sudden influx of fiber which may cause excessive bowel movement). This will be the primary fuel your body will be using throughout the night. Other than that avoid any excessively greasy and fatty foods as this may cause unwanted bowel movements.

In terms of recovery, your body will by crying for carbohydrates since your glycogen stores will have likely been depleted. You'll want to have aim for a 4:1 ratio of carbs to protein as soon as you can however you'll want simple carbs as this gets absorbed quickly into your bloodstream (things like Gatorade and fruits come to mind). You could save your complex carbs for your next meal.

For general supplements I would suggest a multi-vitamin along with Ester-C. The reason I recommend Ester-C is because it's an extended release Vit-C supplement which has a half life of 24 hours. This will help with keeping your immune system which may help prevent any sudden illnesses.

If you are partaking in uhhh... activities a more specific supplementation regiment is needed. This is what I would recommend:

1) Grapefruit juice

2) Chelated Magnesium (none of that magnesium oxide crap)

3) Alpha Lipoic Acid

4) ECGC (Green Tea Extract)

5) Grape Seed Extract

6) Melatonin

I will not get into the specifics of why I recommended these supplements since that's a whole other topic in and of itself. I'm sure there are other resources that will help point you in the right direction if you are genuinely curious as to why.

TL;DR

Carbo-load, limit junk food, Re-Carbo-Load, Multi-Vitamin, time released Vitamin-C, shit ton of other supplements.
