Pressure to Entertain?

Yes, 100%.

I’m virtually the only extrovert amongst my different circles of friends (only kind of noticed this just recently) and it they’re always looking to me to entertain them, say something funny or clever, or like you said keep the conversation going.

They’re just not able to do it amongst themselves for whatever reason, it’s like they’re looking at me to lead the whole night for them.. talk about pressure lol.

I’m usually okay with it, I love being able to bring that joy and spark different kinds of conversations amongst them and have a good time - but it you’re absolutely right, it is exhausting.

I know it’s probably not intentional on their behalf but I feel like I get used in this way — I feel like once they’re happy, content and I’ve helped them not feel so bad about themselves or whatever, they get tired and cast me aside when they’ve had their fill.

Makes me feel like I’m not allowed to be any different around them, like I’m not allowed to have bad days, be upset or have problems of my own - because they didn’t initially buy into that side when they became friends with me.

Obviously this isn’t true, but it’s just how I view it sometimes when I’m feeling like nobody cares lol.

I need some more extroverted friends to take the lead.
