INTJ and ENFP relationships (SERIOUS)

MBTI is how you take in and process information. There is a great deal more to a personality than that, but it makes for some similarities based on seeing the world in a similar way.

It seems unlikely to switch from Ne to Ni - both are future oriented, but Ne is more about possibilities and Ni is more about planning - but high stress can bring out the shadow functions and make you seem more like the opposite type. INTJs and ENFPs both have Te/Fi as their processing functions, so the confusion is understandable if one of the tests was taken in a highly stressed state. Under stress, weaker functions take the helm, so you can act and appear as a different type when you are happy and healthy as opposed to stressed out and anxious.

ENFPs see the world through connections and process through values. Everything is outwardly expanding into a giant spiderweb of interconnected yet unrelated ideas. It get filtered through a personal worldview where values are adjusted or interesting facts are filed away to be recalled later during a completely off topic conversation. Under stress, the decision making function is pushed into control, applying judgement without any real guidance from the stronger functions. Most of the judgement is self directed and highly critical. Under more stress, the weakest function takes over...past experience. This function is prone to nitpicking and applying “always” or “never” statements to everything. “I never get the laundry done. I’m always a lazy slob” sort of language. Highly stressed out ENFPs tend to avoid human contact and can lose all motivation to get themselves into a better frame of mind. They focus on unimportant details and lose sight of the big picture.

INTJs see the world through a sieve. Information is brought in and analyzed, seen as worthwhile or disposable, and processed as such. Mental organization is key. The external environment may or may not reflect it, but secondary Te keeps things orderly for quick reference. Under stress, the values function has a tendency toward the dramatic and metaphorical. Under greater stress, the weakest function takes over - experiencing the now/living in the moment - whatever you want to call it, when an INTJ is at their limit of stress, it is self destructive excess.

A group of people with similar interests is a great place to get comfortable and find your social bearings again - and ENFPs are like dandelions, we pop up everywhere in groups.
