Progressive Rock

I love progressive rock because it tweaks the typical pop rock formula to make something special, often using elements of classical music. I've been looking at the wikipedia page and it says the emergence of the genre was with popular bands like the The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd and many more who broke away from what became typical pop and started experimenting.

Check out Rubber Soul and Revolver from The Beatles. Some stand out songs for me are [In My Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBcdt6DsLQA), [Tomorrow Never Knows](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNbHn3i9S4), [Eleanor Rigby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gluNoLVKiQ). Their later stuff also like [A Day In The Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usNsCeOV4GM).

Their Satanic Majesty's Request by Rolling Stones is another awesome example of a pop band experimenting being progressive. [She's a Rainbow](https://youtu.be/6c1BThu95d8).

I'd add more, but I'm currently too baked and hot.
