PSA: Static Electricity builds up more in the Winter

That's a bit limited view of things. I don't really have much issue with static, even having long hair has never been a problem. I've been building messing around with computers year round for a very long time, doesn't matter the temperature or air moisture and have never had an issue. That is until 2 days ago, or 3. I took of a sweater and knew immediately I was charged up, I just figured I'd lose it touching something without any problems. I go to touch my mouse and I arc to it. It's a damn miracle I didn't fry anything. It went from my mouse to the laptop, to the hdmi receiver (where sound cut-of for a second) to my tv (where for a second as well it turned the whole image purple and got back to normal.)

It scared the shit out of me.

Even if weather plays a small part the clothes we wear during the winter certainly play a larger one.

But hey if your confident enough and you think the risk isn't worth the small precautions go for it it's your hardware anyway.
