Since more titles claim to need 32GB Ram, did anyone upgrade from 16 to 32 recently and can tell if it made any difference?

yes, there is a huge difference.

for example, i just discovered a game called rimworld which is just 1.5 gig in size on disc, but uses a huge amount of memory with a ton of mods.

with 16 gig of memory the pagefile.sys is bloated to a couple of gigiabites on C: drive. and during playtime it stutters a occsionally when switching between game levels.

with 32 gig of ram, the pagefile.sys stays at minimum size and no stutter during gaming.

i remember, years ago, some people asked the same question about "is 16 gig really necessary or is 8 gig still good" and they where downvoted to hell, just like you are here now.

its a joke, (stupid) people are gonna hate.

the fact is, that windows is caching memory to disc all the time, even when the RAM is not full. with faster SSDs these caching procedures are less noticable, but they are still there.

with more RAM you can "circumvent" these OS cachings and have a better gaming experience.

Not everyone notice these stutters and just say, "nah, there is no difference".

but 32 gigs are definitely better. I just upgraded to 32gig and there is a noticeably difference in many scenarios.
