Putting a Dent in Switchscape

I'm okay with someone out-dpsing me if they're willing to put in effort to wep switch, I think.

I just wanna hop onto this comment and say I am, too, but if it's the difference between making or breaking the balance of combat to learn weapon switches then I'm not into it. I'm not saying they are, or that they will be, but I do think that careful consideration should be put into the balance of weapon switching and dps.

I don't mind not doing the most damage, but I don't want to be called useless if I don't. I think weapon switching, while being the most broad offense on the spectrum of sweaty switching, isn't actually the worst part of it, but I can see how it can get out of control and would hope that there's an effort made to keep it from going overboard.

Part of that also plays into the mentality of power creep - if there's so many weapons with so many diverse effects for the game, that's actually a good thing. Should every weapon be competitive? Maybe in their tier, but not across the whole PvM spectrum. But it is good that things like SWH and even Dragon weapons with defense-reducing specs are still used, though I think eventually better things should come along to replace it.
