Questions Regarding MSM Rules

Darn. Well if they can’t even tell my blood type, I’m probably just gonna cancel then. No real use to even waste my time if nobody can’t get any positives out of it, wether me or someone else.

Also yes I get that 3.9% make up a large chunk of HIV cases but from what I’ve done, that dosen’t mean they spread it any more then someone who had non-MSM sex does. So it is a ban for an action that isn’t exclusive to that group but due to that groups larger risk of getting it. Simply put, why not ask the real questions? Like if a man has been with another man where both have been monogamous for 20 years and they have been clean for life, why should they be banned compared to say a heterosexual couple who have been monogamous for 20 years yet had the same rate of anal sex?

In any case I’m just gonna cancel my appointment and say fuck off to donating blood. It’s like the military issue in the US where they ban trans and other LGBTQ individuals from joining the military. It’s an arbitrary rule but it only hurts the government rather then the individual, who only has some freedoms cut. Yeah it sucks but hey if a conscription happens we all will be the ones laughing at home not dying. Same here, if an emergency happens and they need enormous amounts of blood, I’m just gonna sit here laughing.

There are countries in the world who have eliminated the MSM rule and have opted for the personal question based system. Where it’s based solely on personal actions like anal sex and with whom that matters. Those countries have not only more blood doner rates but have had almost no issues with blood donation in HIV/AIDS after opening it up.
