/r/movies mod explains to undelete why the scientist man video was removed for a second time - "if you want to make a video about how everyone who loves it is a lying SJW idiot or everyone who hates it is a MRA manchild baby then quite frankly you can fuck off to somewhere else"

hard, easily confirmed numbers

Yes, and those numbers presumably add up. I haven't bothered to double-check because I assumed they can do basic math. My problem with it? The statistical conclusions don't check out. Off the top of my head, the fact that >90% of people didn't comment is not only irrelevant, it's standard for famous YouTube videos like this one, for example. There are ~100 upvotes on this submission but 24,180 people subscribed to /r/drama. Does that mean only 0.4% of people on reddit care about mod abuse?

The sample of 1000 comments they used didn't have any qualification or vetting to remove bot posts, spam etc. so it's not a representative sample. They make claims of negative comments being removed and misogynist ones being left behind so it's not a reliable sample either. That they found so few misogynist ones is irrelevant because their methods are suspect. There are no sources to any of their claims besides pictures of headlines (because those are reliable and never taken out of context) to back it up.

anger that a studio had taken a beloved movie and remade

Understandable, but my issue stems from the fact that this anger started from the moment of announcement and lasted long before any trailer came out so there was no substance to actually hate it for. People get up in arms over remakes but it's never lasted as long as this and certainly hasn't spawned so much complaints. I wonder why.

Anger over the marketing campaign? See the whole marketing campaign around The Interview, as an example. People didn't have an issue with corporations forcing a narrative their, even after it was discovered there was no North Korean involvement.

mods selectively using their powers to enforce their personal views

The video is literally a poorly-sourced conspiracy theory on par with 9/11 truther videos. It's a political video that has nothing to do with the movie and everything to do with some idea these guys are trying to peddle.
