/r/smashbros State of the Sub - August 2015 - Let's discuss how to make the subreddit a better place!

Game flairs are a little redundant. It's usually possible to tell which game it is without the flair.

This is simply not true. Any sufficiently vague title leaves things very open.

On the front page right now (going through all the posts that are flaired with a specific game flair rather than ALL):

"Don't ask why. Just accept it." --No idea
"Mii Swordfighter 999% Combo! (Glitch)" --Smash 4
"Expectations versus Reality (video)" --No idea
"Zero Suit Samus Sandwich!" --Could be Brawl or Smash 4
"Well, that's one way to end a tournament." --No idea
"Smash 4 pros, ZeRo, MVD & ESAM, on the new patch changes" --Smash 4
"ROB's weight and fall speed weren't actually changed in 3.6b" --Could be Project M or Smash 4 if you don't know patch numbers
"Bobby Scar on a Capcom Show Discussing Melee" --Melee
"What I love about teaming up with a Falcon" --No idea
"Sakurai on Smash 64: article delving into Sakurai's mindset and philosophy when developing Smash 64" --Smash 64
"Dat RNG" --No idea
"If omega mode just turned hazards/transformations off, what Stages would have a shot at being tournament legal?" --Smash 4
"How do you beat the Smash 64 singleplayer on very hard with 3 stocks" --Smash 64
"MDVA's Poyo has joined SiVa Gaming!!" --I don't even know who this is so I could probably correctly guess from that that it's a Smash 4 person but not everyone could
"Game & Watch in doubles" --No idea (not Smash 64)
"This week's Xanadu was amazing" --No idea (only Melee or Smash 4?)

That's about half that are ambiguous or totally unknown just going by the title. Not all of these posts have thumbnails, and not all thumbnails are clear. There would be zero way to tell without clicking on the post for many of these.

I'm just going to say it rudely, failure to moderate by secondary flair (assuming the new primary flair goes through) would be stupid. It would be an actively bad decision that would be to the detriment of this already focus-confused sub. That would probably be enough to make me stop coming here. I don't want to waste time poking through ambiguously-titled posts for the material I'm actually interested in.
