[Question]: Password recovery refuses valid email codes. Any solutions? [Error Message]: The email code you entered was incorrect.

So being the clever idiot I am, I decided I would make my password more complex because the number of games I had on Steam was getting rather large. And yep, you guessed it, I couldn't remember what the password was the other day after months of Auto-Login. Unfortunately, this past Wednesday, Steam dropped to the login window and left me clueless.

No problem, right? Just use the password recovery and off we go! Not the first time it's happened to me, and it's rather simple. Put in my account name, get an email, copy/paste the code, and away we go... except this time, it didn't. Nor did it the following time.

Nor did it the next 30 attempts spread over three days.

I've copy/pasted it to make sure it was accurate. I carefully typed it in exactly as given to me on the off-chance my copy/paste was picking up some random space or something. No dice.

I tried using different computers. Nope.

I tried disabling firewalls, nada.

I tried shutting down every non-essential process in Windows on the off-chance something was interfering. Nothing.

I even tried uninstalling Steam and re-installing. Ended up being a waste of time.

I immediately sent a ticket in to Steam Support, but given how long the wait time is, I'm starting to lose hope. My games are my primary way of venting stress and this is not a good time in my life right now. Without my games, I'm starting to lose it. They're my cornerstone, my one constant, and now they're gone.

Is there any way to expedite the process more than I have? I've already given Steam Support three screenshots of the problem, with the Steam email in the background proving that I did indeed, on no less than three separate documented occasions, input the email verification code exactly as given. I've also provided a retail CD Key that I just used in the last week. I'm starting to get irritable and short-tempered at home, and I hate it.

I'm extremely frustrated at the system not working for whatever reason. I'm further frustrated because my wife has tested the same process, and it works for her account but not mine. Oddly enough, she's receiving 8 character long codes, but mine are only 5 characters long. I figure it shouldn't matter, but strange, nonetheless.

Has anyone ever run into a problem like this? Is there anything on my end I can try? Or am I stuck waiting on Steam Support?
