RE: Depletion workout for CKD

Thanks for the links. I've read McDonald's books. The problem might be my language. I've used depletion and tension interchangeably when they are accepted to be two different things. In the second link, the author writes: "There are two options for the Friday workout. One is to perform a tension workout to stimulate growth during the carb-load. The second is to do a high-rep depletion workout, which should be done in circuit fashion solely to deplete muscle glycogen." I was getting at a workout of the former variety. If I were to adapt my Monday/Tuesday workouts to use between 70-80 percent 1RM for the necessary amount of sets to deplete glycogen to around 70mmol/kg and introduce a further full body tension workout Friday with the correct amount of sets to being glycogen down further, would that not lead to greater anabolic effects during the carb load? I fail to see any reason why the pre carb-up workout should be exclusively a high rep depletion workout. If the muscles are placed under tension for long enough, glycogen will be broken down, irrelevant of whether the reps are high or lower.
