There is no '2014'. No player bought in that year had ballon d'or contention status or was super marketable.

There's seem to be a misunderstanding on the term 'galactico', it doesnt mean 'a world class player', it's actually a tier ABOVE that.

Even in the 2009 Generation, only Kaka and Cristiano had the status that Ronaldo-Zidane-Figo-Beckham had in the 'originals'. The guys around it, like Xabi and Benzema and Casillas were also great players (just like Raul, Makelele, Owen and others with the originals) but not GALACTICOS.

The 2009 guys are comparable to the 50's generation, with DiStefano, Kopa, Puskas, Gento, etc... there were a couple of top tier guys (legit Galactico) and other grat players. But the 'originals' is something that wasn't replicated so far.

I hate Barça, but that team with Messi-Henry-Ibra-Iniesta-Xavi was probably the closest to a galacticos team since then.
