I feel bad seeing all this. The best argument from those in favor of the new system is that the old system never really rewarded the best korean players in SC2 anyways, instead it rewarded mostly B tier koreans who escaped to the west with Visa's or by getting onto a foreign teams (Polt, Jaedong, Liquid Hero etc). People like maru, soo, innovation and life etc. never really profited from foreign tournaments even though they were the best. The new system however leads many of those same B league Koreans to realize that they're screwed because the Korean scene really only supports Code S players in a really big way. Everyone else is fodder for the military. On the other hand even if the best Koreans rarely ever attended foreign events the quality of play was inevitably higher because of the addition of Koreans. I feel sad because I know the reason why koreans are so much better than everyone else but I can't really talk about it. Think of it like black people in the hundred meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, high jump, marathon running etc. They always win, but when black people win in those sports no one really questions that they have a racial predisposition to do well in certain high performance athletics. When not a single person in the history of this game has been able to compete at the very highest levels of SC2 from 1.4 billion ppl who live in NA and EU versus the 50 million who live in Korea, you have to start realizing it isn't laziness on the part of foreigners or lack of infrastructure (there is more money in foreigner sc2 than in Korea) it's just that they have different cognitive abilities. I'm sorry to say that I can't provide you with more than that, but I feel bad about all this but I know that a few people who see this might be in on it and understand. Everyone else will just raise their pitchforks I guess.
