Poetry by black people is fine. I mean relative to other poetry it's fine, there's not a lot of great poetry by anyone else writing in English either. The same widespread rot afflicts everyone. just a few top people straggling on, usually old. Geoffrey hill and Les Murray just died, they ain't black but white people lost2 real ones there. Jay Wright is live one of the people you'd talk about as best living in English rn, he's black so good job to Jay and his parents, they did good getting together, no doubt with the expectation that their son would be black, like they were, and indeed, as it turns out, he was.
