I recently found out my wife of 8 years had a lot of random sex before we met, it makes me wonder about her - how do I get over it?

Suggesting therapy wasn't a bad thing. OP would likely benefit from it. But for a lot of people therapy is something with a negative connotation. Something that proves they have a problem they can't resolve themselves. Some people don't like that. It's the callous way the suggestion was made that I'm calling out here.

My personal mindset is that everyone needs therapy because this world can F you up. But it's important to recognize that suggestions need to be made while fitting the other person's preferences. It's something they need to choose to do and insinuating he's a weak minded guy who needs therapy to get over his issues (which are valid) is not the way to nudge someone towards it.
