Reddit, What is your favorite "I was there" moment?

This probably won't mean much to non-dancers, but there was a dance show that ran every six months for two years, headed in part by two dancers who were a couple in real life.

I missed the first show of the series, which was around the time they had just gotten back together after having broken up for awhile.

The second show they had been back together for six months. They performed this one routine that was absolutely gorgeous, and there was clearly a connection there that they didn't have with other dancers, it just wasn't particularly pronounced yet.

The third show they performed the same number, and that time they were clearly enamored with each other. There were all these extra little looks- him giving her these little smiles and her sort of blushing as they continued to dance, her looking back a bit to watch him watch her leave- just really cute couple things you don't get when you just have a partnership between two people. They were clearly happy, and they were adorable.

I saw the last performance of the final run of the show. It was a Sunday afternoon performance, and he had proposed to her on stage the night before (obviously she said yes or this story would be a LOT different). When they performed that dance again there was just pure joy. They weren't trying to hide their smiles this time, they embraced them. The way he looked at her was just in complete awe, like he couldn't believe how lucky he was. When she left the stage he looked up as if to the heavens and I guess you could say "blew a kiss". Then he looked off stage in the way she had left and followed her with a grin.

Something about watching these snapshots of their growing relationship, and just seeing it presented through dance, was amazing. Seeing how the exact same dance changed so much over every six months as they fell more and more in love with each other is just a testament to how dance is really a true expression of the soul.

As an aside- I ended up taking a masterclass sort of thing with the guy the next day and he would not stop talking about this girl. He'd try to hide it, sort of sneak in comments about her while trying to make it relevant, but you could tell he was just looking for excuses to bring her up. Love is so cute.
