Redditors, what started off as a small lie but then snowballed into "This is my life now?"

I was born on the edge of the year and I was a triplet so because I was so small growing up my mother thought it would be good to put me in school with children usually about a year younger than me, though we looked pretty much identical. No issue right?

Then I joined a competitive soccer team when I turned 11 going on 12 but I was put into U14 (one division up) because they took all kids born into my year which led to me showing up to practice looking like a fetus with slightly longer legs. But in my little dumbass head I needed to be their same age so I lied, profusely. I lied about my school, my grade, my classes, I said I was in AP classes when I was in grade 7 because I just wanted to seem old. It spiraled out of control, none of my best mates knew my real age and when everyone else was heading to university I had to lie like it was my special ability.

To this day, all my mates think I'm their same age but I'm a fake. I'll never let them know though, I've lied too long about something so dumb that to tell them after they've bought me cakes with the wrong age on it for years for would be even worse.
