I once worked as a server in a bar. One of the night managers was just a really awful person and would use his position to make the girls do whatever he wanted. He would often force us to do jobs that weren't in our job description such as cleaning the employee toilet, like people really want us bringing them their food and drinks after we've finished scrubbing a toilet. He also had a way of insulting the way you looked while hitting on you at the same time and would end any one on one conversation with a slap to the ass. The night I quit one of his creepy friends had come in with a group and told my manager how much he liked me. So he split my section up with the other servers and forced me to be this guys personal server all night long. Which is a really crappy situation when you work for tips. This guy and his friends treated me horribly and tried all night to get me to go home with them. When I finally made it clear that wasn't going to happen, they stormed out without leaving a tip so my entire night was a bust. I complained to my manager and he responded by telling me I had to do all the dishes since I didn't have to do as much work as the other girls that night. We do usually have to finish dishes but it is split between 5 of us. As soon as I finished and he told me I was done for the night, I drove home and typed up a resignation letter effective immediately and just ripped him apart being very clear he was the reason I was quitting and why. I then drove back to the bar at around 4am marched in and handed him the letter, told him he could go fuck himself and said goodbye to everyone as I stormed out. Two days later the bar owner called me in for a meeting to discuss what I had written in my letter. I was really nervous but went in and amazingly they were really apologetic. After reading my letter the owner had questioned everyone working that night and everyone expressed their grievances on how awful this manager was so the owner fired him and offered me my position back!
