Reminder: You can still get a refund for any OVERKILL packs you've bought thus far.

So that's a perk they haven't changed. They are still acting like asses towards anyone who has any criticism, for example with the latest hype train commentaries.

Goldfarb took it out on individuals directly. Current OVERKILL is passive aggressive without directly communicating.

I'm not debating this either. The current Overkill also talks big and doesn't deliver. The difference is that they don't even have the cool ideas in the first place.

Oh please. Check out Payday: The Heist. They have ideas. Besides, what gives you the idea that Goldfarb was the guy with every single good idea? Do you really think everyone else sat around saying "No, let's do boring things instead!"?

I'm well aware that PD2 was full of problems and underwhelming on release. And so was Goldfarb. He knew that a lot of it would come through DLC later and that was already planned. There are several interviews with him early on in which he tackles that.

And interviews where he promises more than what was delivered, which he then solved by being angry and waving his hands later on, with parts of the community gobbling it up, prepared to defend him and OVK to death.

They fixed many of those problems (as you pointed out) and the many heists they released for free at first were quite innovative. They did put life into the game, and a lot of it.

"Many heists"? They released, what, four free heists under Goldfarb? Diamond Store, which was a bad one, Election Day, which I'm guessing wasn't in the release for the same reason the Cloaker wasn't in it; rushed for time so I'm counting that one to late delivery to try and make up for broken promises, a heist version of a CS:GO map (a heist I'm not fond of at all) and the Shadow Raid Heist which was genuinely good. And fixing problems isn't something praiseworthy, it's the very minimum we should expect from them. Especially since they released a feature-incomplete game and were angry about people wondering when they would deliver the rest.

To me it only looks like they are completely lost and out of ideas about how to keep the game even remotely fresh. Because even with DLC, paid or otherwise, they have been failing miserably.

And to me the Bomb heist is at a level similar to the first DLC, Armored Transport, the perk deck was a better idea than skill tiers, and Hoxton Breakout is one of the best missions in the game. I'm not at all happy about what they are doing in general, but you trying to tell me that they had some sort of glory days under Goldfarb? Bullshit, I was there.

And what about what they bring now? All they know how to do is to deliver masks and more masks, with a few underwhelming "heists" in between.

All they did back then was roll out what they hadn't finished in time for the game's release! That's not impressive! We got Hotline Miami and Hoxton Breakout post-Goldfarb, I'm not sure why you're pissing on those heists.
