Renting Apartment vs House (utilities)

I have a gas furnace and a gas range, my highest gas bill in the coldest month has been like $130 maybe, during the Summer it's like $10. my highest electric bill was probably about $150-$170 during the Summer when we use the AC a lot, in the winter it's closer to $100. Water will be higher if you keep your lawn green all year, but other than that it should be comparable to an apartment, unless you aren't used to having a washer/dryer. Aside from utilities, you'll be paying for property taxes and insurance, which will likely be in the area of $300-$500 per month, depending on where you buy and what your home is worth. My house is a 4 bedroom from the 40s, but I've done a lot of insulating to it.
