What about this idea for a 3rd bridge? Numbers could be adjusted as needed to meet the budget, but this could be a good start. (Taken from a Facebook post.)

A close relative of mine arranged forced purchases for the federal government for over 35 years and he told me that he would often pay the property owners more than what their property was worth.

He did it and never had problems. I think it was left up to him to use his best judgment.

The reason why I brought up this item anyway is because some people will understandably argue against the bridge because of their concerns about forcibly displacing people.

I want to put this item on the table so that the property owners can be accomodated for the inconvenience and it would be ideal if the offer was good enough that property owners would be excited to offer their property if they were offered a bit more than what their land was worth.

We want to avoid being the bad guys as much as possible.

Are you a government lawyer by the way or are you making assumptions about the law?
