Renting a cat in Japan ?!

Well, thats why I asked for suggestions. That thought was ridiculous to me as well. But I also think about the situations I have read here where a owner buys right away and feels after a few weeks that the same owner do not wish to keep the pet anymore and asks if somebody wants to or what to do in that case?!. And I do not want to be that person.

Also, its better for the cat to be a rental than to have such owner. (I guess same goes for having children, where option of fostering and helping a kid already exists unlike fostering animals which means a owner has to look after it forever). So for the future pet and for me, I wanted to make sure, everything's fine.

I understand I tried to justify here but I also asked my original question in that way to begin with because the same things you said was in my mind too. So, thats why I am still looking to it and studying before I even take this step.
