[REQUEST] How much revenue is being lost from the Orioles-White Sox game due to the fact no fans can attend because of the Baltimore riots/protests

The capacity of Camden Yards is 48,187 including standing room only. 2014's average attendance was 30, 426.

I will base calculations on that number, assuming this season has similar attendance-though I think in reality there would be less attending if they were allowed to go.

Average ticket price is hard to nail down because of the variety of seats, but tickets range anywhere from $15-$60 for a normal ticket, with many more tickets available on the lower end of this range. We will assume a ticket price of $30 for ease of calculation.

30,426 * $30 =$912,780

You also have to consider the money they make from concessions. According to this infographic, the average cost to attend the game for a family of four includes about 100$ in concessions (Total of $821,502), with the stadium taking about 50% of the sales. Let's add $410,000 to our $912,780 to bring us to $1,734,282.

We have to factor in the cost of security and other staffing and subtract it from our normal total. I could not find a good source for this, so let's assume $100k, leaving us with $1.63million in profit for a normal game...excluding normal costs of operating a major league stadium such as depreciation on fixtures, building maintenance, and player's salaries, which would be spread out amongst the other games of the season.

Without attendance you lose all ticket sales and concessions, but you don't have to pay as much for security and salaries of workers. So starting with $0 in revenue and subtracting the cost of security we are in the hole about -50k. Then we subtract the profit you'd make from a normal game and you get about $1.68 million.

This was my first did the math...I'd love to see what others think or if I missed anything.
