An in-depth conversation about the modding scene

I would say it would be a ridiculous claim to make of Robin, however not so much with Nick. While both are DEFINITELY in the modding scene for sure, if they never talked to a single person about modding, just put out content and never talked or read about anything dealing with modding I would argue that they are not in the 'community' as what makes something a community is how they interact with one another, I would say.

In the beginning Nick said that he didn't really partake in the social aspect of the mod scene, and while I definitely imagine that his claims that some people get too caught up in the 'social' aspect and not enough of the 'mod' aspect, he himself said that he never really got into the 'social' aspect himself. As well, he later talks about how he hasn't been into the modding scene much recently at all because he's got other things to deal with (completely understandable), but this would further call into question his understanding of the modding community I say. All the while, Robin has made it clear that he goes through a lot of posts and comments on Nexus by how he at times wishes that he could remove them or talking about how passive aggressive they are, his duties of being an admin on Nexus result in Robin for sure being involved in the 'community' aspect, meanwhile nothing compels Nick to be aside from any person desire which he gives a fair amount to suggest wouldn't be that strong. Then as well there's actually quite a difference of opinion between the two about the modding community, while Nick says that he's of the opinion that the people expressing outrage at the paid mod system probably aren't even skyrim players at all, while Robin suggests at various times that he's seen the modding community decry the system with reasonable criticism and even agrees with them on those points (unless I'm mistaken). These are two VASTLY different views of the 'community' (which Nick even suggested doesn't exist) that I at least would argue means that at least one of them is not listening to all of what the community is saying.

And given how Nick's statements about his own involvement with the modding community and scene at large, I would think that it's safe to say that Nick at least is not listening to all of what the community is saying. Whether Nick is listening to the community at all or if Robin is only hearing the parts that Nick isn't listening to, I couldn't say.

But those are just my thoughts.
