Restaurants and Bars being forced to close at 10 ARE THE MAIN REASON for the fuckery on Granville on Halloween.

I have no words. It’s not a poor industry thing, it’s a let’s work together as humans and give it our best shot at eliminating this virus or at least not overwhelm the healthcare industry. I beyond don’t understand why getting drunk is an option. Sure support the pubs and restaurants by being smart about it. No good decisions are made while intoxicated. Clearly physical distancing wasn’t attempted or else people would of gotten out of there right away and/or wore masks but no everyone stayed and lingered. 10pm is the compromise. Pretty sure Granville is crowded by at least half if not more on the nights places closed pre covid times. It’s a privilege right now to be going out or else soon we will be the UK or Manitoba. I’m a dental hygienist who isn’t going back to work because we cannot get the N95’s while we create aerosols all day therefore I’m taking a huge pay cut in another industry because I cannot take that risk. I sit at home solo most evenings and now I’m worried sick about my family in Winnipeg. Being drunk is not a priority during a pandemic. We are all suffering in some way or another.
