Reviews?

So I just watched it and I'm kind of baffled at the reviews. Honestly, I am a huge fan of the stage version and the movie was one of the most true adaptations of a musical I've ever seen.

The cuts kind of suck. Good For You is one of my favorite parts from the original, but it's done purposefully and you're not missing much there because they build up to that point in a more subtle, yet still effective way.

The acting was amazing and I never felt that Ben was too old or looked out of place. If that is a criticism, I know this is a personal preference when it comes down to it, I get it, but I still don't think it's that bad.

It's really really well done and everything they added made sense if you analyze it from a point of view of what limitation there are when making a movie instead of a stage show. I guess some of the humor could have stayed, but it does send a mixed message which was one of the original complaints anyway, so I have no idea what the critics are asking for.

It's really really well done and if you haven't seen it yet, just go in open minded and I think if you're a fan of the original you'll be really happy with the movie.
