People don't like being called out or proven wrong, especially stupid ones; which they clearly are.

She probably thought she was 100% in the right demanding the things she was demanding; don't drink, wear your shirt...not factoring in that this was a day off and being done for free; because, as they're greedy enough to even accept the work for free in the first place, they're probably insanely entitled.

When OP called her out, he made her look like a fool and knocked her off her fantasy world high-horse, she responded with violence; because it was such a shock to her system to feel that way.

When she was arrested, rightfully...OP's aunt was knocked off her fantasy world high-horse, and decided to sue; trying to gain the fantasy high ground back.

When the judge agreed with OP, his aunt, still stupidly refusing to admit defeat, would rather have a destroyed roof than admit to being proven wrong.

I'm sure they're all sitting in that house talking about how unfair the justice system is in their opinion, how rude OP is being, and how terrible those workers were.
