That's what so many people don't seem to get. No billionaire is going trying to shoot themselves out to Mars after fucking up Earth because even if we trashed Earth completely to where the all the arctic ice melted, the temperatures warmed +6C, all coastal cities flooded, and we were seeing the worst doomsday version of a climate crisis - that would still be MANY orders of magnitude more hospitable than fucking Mars, haha.

Mars barely has an atmosphere, you can't even fucking breath on the planet without some sort of assistance, the average temperature is -62C (-81F), it's absolutely full of super fine dust particles just itching to fill your lungs, it would be nothing but a constant fight for survival on the absolute edge of what humans can even tolerate with a shitload of technological assistance keeping them alive. Terraforming Mars so that it even resembles a planet like Earth in any form would take many thousands of years.
